I don’t know who needs to hear this (it’s all of you) but on my husband’s ER night shift last night, they filled the last bed in the COVID ICU.

Things are about to get a lot uglier.

All those people insisting on how we’ve gotten SO much better at treating this disease?

We have. It’s great. It saves lives.

It doesn’t save lives if there’s no fucking room.

Behavior precedes infection. Infection precedes hospitalization. Hospitalization precedes deaths.

We cannot wait for Biden to take office to take decisive action on this.

We have a holiday season coming up. Please, please be safe. Your behavior at Thanksgiving may determine whether your loved ones are around for Christmas.

There are people who have been a beloved part of my timeline for years who are no longer here because of 2020. Every one of those losses hurts.

I want the rest of you to stay around.

I am contacting Senator Gardner again, because he may have been ousted, but he’s still my Senator. I’m also contacting Senator Bennett.

Please tell your Congresspeople that the time for decisive action is now.
