Have to say this tweet has enraged me - it has bugged me all day. It& #39;s the Covid_19, it& #39;s the lockdown but more than that. I& #39;m sick of people like @SimonHarrisTD telling us how to conduct ourselves, how to advocate for ourselves. Playing the victim - taking no responsibility
Last night on my way home from my walk, I found a young man sitting in filth on the street outside. At first I thought he was dead, so I gave him a shake to see if he was okay. He was, he was just asleep with a filthy blue sleeping bag wrapped around him. When I say a man, he was
little more than a boy. I went into the gaff to get a few bob for him and a hat, scarf and gloves that I always have in the house when I see people outside. I went back out to him and handed him a little bag and a few bob to get something, something nice for a Saturday night.
He just cried and cried and thanked me and then he cried more. And then I cried because I felt so frustrated I couldn& #39;t do more for him. That I knew he would be heading into the hostel later on and he told me he hated them as he is always bullied in there. We had a chat for
a while and he got up to head off to the hostel for the night, I noticed he didn& #39;t have to use of one of his arms, he walked with a severe limp- it was such a pitiful sight. He just kept thanking me and saying "God Bless" and I looked at him limping up the street. He was filthy
filthy from neglect, filthy from a country that has forgotten about its values. Filthy from greed, filthy from corruption, filthy from your politics @SimonHarrisTD - a politics that has left so many people behind. And you wonder why people are angry. With respect, fuck you.
