Yes, I reached out to a Trumper. Someone who cut me off 4 saying anybody who supports Trump's racism could delete me. Someone who shares my blood. He's never going 2 write back. His hate is stronger than any love he had for me. I knew that 4 yrs ago. But I still called him on it.

Rumor is he's become increasingly volatile since that time. Think Rogan, but meaner. From the stories I've heard there's no shred of good left in him. It makes me sad. But I'm not silly enuf to think that me building a bridge is going to coax him away from burning it on sight.

This notion that kindness toward people who are entrenched in evil is going to somehow undo their brainwashing...is just terribly naive. Not when they WANT to be brainwashed. Not when they violently reject reason. You can't reach them. But you can definitely call a spade a spade.

For the record, this wasn't an olive branch. This was me letting him know he's an asshole for not calling when he found out I had cancer. And reminding him of who he turned his back on.

My brother is a violent bigot. I can't change that. But he is my brother. He knows better.
