In the past two years, in our research, we've shown that rhetoric surrounding #MuslimBan fueled anti-Muslim incidents offline and online: http://ourmuslimvoices.com/  w/ @NazitaLajevardi @niloufar_s @mariamnotmiriam @sakhrates

The new administration should repeal it on day one.
Anti-muslim sentiment is not new and unique to Trump’s administration. However, @NazitaLajevardi's book with @CambridgeUP, shows that discrimination against Muslims grew "since 2016 – in no small part due to targeted attacks by policymakers and the media." http://www.nazitalajevardi.com/books
By interviewing Muslim journalists, political candidates, activists, and data analysis, we’ve seen that #MuslimBan is linked to anti-refugees sentiment; this further highlights the @JoeBiden administration role in repairing racist immigration policies. https://www.iftf.org/fileadmin/user_upload/downloads/ourwork/IFTF_Anti-Muslim_comp.prop_W_05.07.19.pdf
W/ @samuelwoolley & @_NickMonaco, in "Incubating Hate: Islamophobia and Gab" published by @gmfus, we show how content against Muslims moves readily between social media platforms (mainstream or fringe). We highlight the need for cross-platform analysis. https://www.gmfus.org/sites/default/files/publications/pdf/Incubating%20Hate%20-%20Islamophobia%20and%20Gab.pdf
We’ve also shown platforms’ shortcomings in their content moderation policies and have been focusing on counter-narrative strategies taken by Muslims to shape narratives about themselves.
