Since the #Democratic Party—even though it defeated an incumbent president!— has started it’s biennial circular firing squad about “the way forward” let me offer some non-expert takes (1/4):
1) Districts are demographically & ideologically different
2) We have a nationalized media environment that makes navigating those differences challenging
3) When all votes counted, under/over performance relative to Biden should be looked at

4) Many voters fear “socialism” & low info means many conflate it with Dems (see point # 2)
5) Be wary of takes based on early exit polls (and not clear exits will be useful at all this year even though sampled early/mail voters)

6) Pandemic created unique circumstances (that GOP ignored)— door knocking & in-person voter outreach is necessary.
7) Years-long organizing paid off in AZ and GA—need to replicate elsewhere.
