Democrats' victory by largely mail-in ballot proves that Ben Franklin's idea of a national postal service was a banger in the 18th Century and it still slaps today. The free and open mail remains democracy's lifeline.
The American people trusted a stranger in a postal uniform enough to hand them their VOTE and trust it would get to the right place. And they did, by the millions, in spite of political interference from the president himself.
I hope we as a nation can come together on some sort of bipartisan way to honor the critical role the postal service and postal workers play in protecting our democracy.

Damn, give them a national holiday. They're the peaceful front line troops of free communication.
