As a rugby club just coming out of another National lockdown, we thought we should share some information with you regarding the precarious and unsustainable financial position we are currently in due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The same as most rugby clubs throughout Wales months without playing any rugby has hit us hard – no spectators, low bar takings and then add to this that no functions can be held at the club has left us in a financial position we could never have forecast last year.
Thankfully through careful financial management prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were in a good financial position entering into the crisis. As you will know, we have some of the best facilities in South Wales. We are extremely fortunate.
Not many clubs have a recently refurbished clubhouse, two floodlight pitches and a capacity of 5,000. These fantastic facilities however come at a huge monthly overheads. With this in mind, we thought a quick message supported by an infographic to explain our monthly outgoings.
We hope the infographic paints a picture of our position and helps us explain why we need your continued support to survive the pandemic and still be standing as a club on the other side.
How can you help us?

Become a Member – Discounted drinks and snacks, guaranteed access to International tickets and free function room booking are just some of the benefits;

Support the club – We offer a family friendly environment for you to socialise.
We guarantee you a warm and safe welcome following all Welsh Government guidelines;

Buy some merchandise – CAE Bobble Hats, a CRFC Face Mask, Enamel Lapel Pins, Golf Umbrellas, Thermal Mugs and more. All profits will obviously go directly to the upkeep of the club.
We understand the far reaching financial impact the pandemic has had on people within our local community. Please only help us if you can afford to do so.

The WRU have helped us financially with grants totalling around £2500. We thank them for this and their continued support.
Let us be clear. We are grateful of any support. Every packet of crisps, pint of beer, can of Coke or cup of coffee all contributes to the upkeep of the club. We have a huge number of players and members. A small purchase from each one would help us hugely.
If you want us to be there for you, your children or grandchildren after the pandemic we need your support more than ever NOW. We are proud to be such a big part of the community - over five hundred players play or train on a weekly basis at the club.
We are immensely proud of our 133 year history and without your support we may not be there to develop the next generation of rugby players growing up in Caerphilly. Please support us and we will be there to support you. #TogetherAsOne #UppaCae #133YearsNotOut
