Hey, #FioNA, do you know the history of your colleague Anne (Resusci) as known as the "most kissed" face of all time?
In 1880, an unidentified young woman was found drowned in the river Seine, Paris. Due to her beauty, a pathologist at the morgue decided to make a death mask 👀
In the following years, numerous copies were produced and, unthinkable nowadays, became a fashionable fixture among part of the society. Her enigmatic smile was compared to that of the Mona Lisa.

About #CPR, in 1732, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation was described first by William Tossach in Alloa, Scotland. Tossach resuscitated a suffocated coal-pit miner. "A man dead in appearance, recovered by distending the lungs with air".
In 1775, John Hunter developed 'bellows ventilation' and although it was first recommended, given the fear of possible contagion of diseases when mouth-to-mouth technique, later on it was condemned for lack of safety.
In the XVIII century other curious, quirky and...failed techniques were described:
During the 1950s, James Elam and Peter Safar ("the father of modern resuscitation" together with Dr. Kouwenhoven, Knickerbocker, and Jude), rediscovered mouth-to-mouth. They combined the A (airway), B (breathing) and C (chest compressions), components of #CPR.
Later on, in 1960 (1958*), a toymaker, Asmund Laerdal, together with Dr. Safar and Dr. Lind, created* and started using a life-size mannequin to teach CPR skills: Resusci Anne.
"Annie, are you ok?" from Smooth Criminal (Michael Jackson, 1987) was inspired by Resusci Anne. That were the cries at training rooms to check victim's non-responsiveness. By the way, talking about songs...
Songs, #CPR and rhythm, the recommendation is to think of "Stayin' Alive" by @BeeGees 🧔🧔🏼🧔🏽 or... La Macarena by @LosDelRioMusic 💃
Hands only #CPR (without ventilation) has been also accepted and Mouth-to-mouth is not recommended during #COVID19 pandemic ( @American_Heart) and isn't required anymore.
Resusci Anne celebrated her 60 birthday in 2020 and has become a symbol in the field of Medical #Simulation and #PatientSafety.
Interesting, right, #FioNA?
What if you'll become the most sampled woman of all time 😄. Not kisses, but samples 😅.
Ah 😅, remembering a mask on the wall of his grandparents' house many years earlier (...which mask? The one of the "Inconnue de la Seine), Laerdal decided that she would become the face of Resusci Anne.
That's all folks!
