Progressives, I know you& #39;re working through the stages of grief. But I& #39;m happy that Biden won. I wish you& #39;d stopped the "defund the police" and "pack the courts" stuff that spooked a lot of voters into ticket-splitting, but whatever, there& #39;s still time to improve in 2022. /1

I& #39;m not a member of the Democratic caucus and never will be, so you don& #39;t need to argue here with me all day. Look at the data from 2020, think unemotionally - it can be done - and think about helping Joe fix the joint for the next few years. That& #39;s what we should all do. /2

Biden managed to put together a large coalition. If it fractures in 2022, or sooner, the GOP will be waiting for you to make this mistake. Don& #39;t fall for it. But at least consolidate the anti-Trump win. Shouldn& #39;t be that hard./3

For now, just be part (as @TaraSetmayer put it) of a pro-democracy movement. Leave your allies alone. Focus on your opponents. Find the most important thing you agree about. The rest you can argue about later, well into a Biden administration.
