8 times I cry during the epilogue of Lord of the Rings, a thread.

This after the main story completes! So much love! Just so much! The epilogue really is a gift to fans.
1. Gandalf’s comforting, loving grace. After all we have experienced, just having @IanMcKellen in close up longer than expected is so relieving.
2. Samwise walking in last with only a nod and a range of emotions, no words necessary. We get it. @SeanAstin deserves an Oscar.
3. Aragorn singing! A major studio picture with the courage to give us Tolkien’s poetry to screen! This means so much to me
4. Arwen’s surprise appearance before King Elessar. I scream with joy every time as tears flow.
5. You bow to no one, arguably the most powerful moment in cinematic history that can break even the strongest of men.
6. The courage of Samwise and his marriage to Rosie. Boy does he deserve all that love. I’m so happy for him a new wave of tears come flowing.
7. It is time, Frodo. Shocking all who stand by his side and all who watch, Sam’s tears turn into our waterfalls with “the last pages are for you Sam.”
8. Well, I’m back. Fidelity to Tolkien through to the end. They did it. They really did it. I’ll never feel this way in a theater ever again.
