My hot take is that neither moderates nor progressives are right (or maybe they both are, depending on how you look at it), and Dems should use a strategy that is specific to their state or district.
Levin is a good example of this. He’s great on climate; moderate on most other issues. I voted for him but personally wouldn’t hold him up as a bastion of progressivism & that’s okay! He was able to flip a seat in 2018 and keep it in 2020 (his race wasn’t competitive this cycle).
His platform worked in this purple district in a coastal area. In 2016 we ran a candidate who was more explicitly progressive (platform included M4A, etc.); he lost.
Moderates telling progressives to back away from all progressive issues are inaccurate and unhelpful. So is the message from some progressives that the same strategies will work everywhere.

And y’all, we have 2 more Senate seats to flip so I really hope we can keep it together.
