my articulate thoughts: Dabi is set up as a DIRECT foil to Shouto (irt personal autonomy). Shouto's development was set around become his own person *despite* his upbringing, and here we have Dabi blaming his actions ON his upbringing. My guess is this will be dabi v shouto...
Interesting to note also, one of the ties between Enji and Dabi here is obsession, both doing terrible things in the pursuit of a selfish goal.
A lot of the writing in BNHA has a focus on personal autonomy and responsibility- what you do on your own accord vs what youre told to do, raised to do, expected to do, etc. Nearly every single arc has had a callback to this idea.
To me the most interesting line from this chapter is "I'm not saying that everyone has to be pure and selfless. Just you."

Interesting expectation of Enji by Dabi.
this is all very Shakespearian tbh......royal son who becomes so obsessed with his father he is devastated when he doesnt get his undivided attention, clings to one brother for comfort, wants to kill the perfect prince, obsessively watches his father
Places his father on a holy pedestal where he should be Pure and Good and beyond human, elated with his success while simultaneously wanting to drag him into hell with him.....🤔🤔🤔
I also dont think Dabi wants to kill him.....I think what he does want is to ruin him to the point where all he has left is Dabi.........fucked up if true......
