And how after all of this, they can still stand by Trump. It makes sense though,he spent his entire presidency dividing this country, building dislike against each other which has blossomed into hate, contempt, and malice. He injected his poisonous words slowly into his supporters.
He then watched his supporters take that hate and spread it further and applauded it. His supporters seem so engrained with resentment and hostility that challenging them or if you think/act/look different their first reaction is to lash out with what they know: pure hatred.
I cannot change these people, but I CAN keep moving forward with my beliefs, morals and values and hope that others will follow. I can raise my children to see people for their character and not their race/ethnicity/religious beliefs/political views/how they identify/ and
Who they love. I can show my children to welcome the world with love and understanding instead of hate and fear. For those who supported Trump and were not tangled into his hate and division, I am sorry. I know this was a tough election and I know the despair.
You must be feeling. I truly am sorry about your loss. I really do wish you peace during this transition. As we look to this new future, I hope we can come together no matter our differences and make our country truly great again.
I see these next four years being the stepping stone we need to achieve the things we lost in the last 4 years. I see hope for the first time in a long time. /
