Ok.. I don’t usually theorise about concepts or themes and this may have been super obvious to everyone else but...

I think @BTS_twt upcoming album #BTS_BE is still going to continue focusing on Carl Jung’s theories and here’s why:
For MOTS7, the first song we were presented with was Interlude: Shadow, this contains the lyrics:

// I wanna BE a rap star / I wanna BE the top / I wanna BE a rockstar / I want it all mine / I wanna BE rich / I wanna BE the King / I wanna go win / I wanna BE… //
We know that this song was sampled from O!Rul8,2? but the lyrics also continue this ethos of ‘being’:

// Never BE late to do what you wanna do right now / because at one point of someday everything you did would BE exactly what you will BE //
We also see further references to Carl Jung’s process of individuation throughout the entire MOTS7 album: Inner Child and Ego looking back at your history which influenced who you are; and My Time, Filter and Moon looking at who you want to be for other people.
But Carl Jung himself said “One should never think that man can reach perfection … he can only aim at completion, not to BE perfect but to BE complete”
So.. my thinking is, what if MOTS7 was an examination of their process of individuation, their concepts of their true selves and now that they have reached the end of that process they can just BE.
The 7 concept photos further point to a continuation of Jung’s psychology. Jung had this belief that building a house was a reflection of building a self.
This would explain the 7 concept photos of each members’ rooms - this is who they are inside and this is who they are presenting themselves as. They curated these rooms so it’s a reflection of their self.
I saw people be surprised at some of the rooms, such as Jungkook’s, but what if this is because they are no longer trying to BE anyone else (as looked as in My Time, Filter and Moon), but this is just how they are.
ALSO even just the name of the teasers - MIRROR version, REFLECTION version, ROOM version - ugh there’s just so many references to the process.
I also think that BE is going to be based on the gravitational point of adaptation and neurosis, which again is an important concept in Jung’s psychology.
This is when we try to adapt to change but this process is interrupted by something outside of our control (hello COVID). This year has asked both BTS and Army to adapt to various circumstances and so we see how we react different and this shapes us into our self.
The concept clip (room ver.) was just released and I think this signals to the individuation’s relationship with community and how crucial it is to our sense of self and being but I don’t have time to look into that more for the moment!
These are my completely unprofessional thoughts and I didn’t look too deeply at this but would like to when I have more time, perhaps next weekend before BE is released!
I'll add to this as I have more thoughts but unfortunately have exams this week so they take priority (but this thread is a result of my procrastination)
