Alright now that the jokes have calmed down, I’ll have a serious conversation about politics with y’all. Progressivism is popular on Twitter and THATS it. Defunding the police is not a supported idea among voters, reparations are not a popular idea among voters....
Universal Healthcare is not a popular idea among voters, higher taxes (whether it’s on the rich or not) is not a popular idea among voters, immigration reform is not a popular idea among voters, foreign policy voters do not care about. So where does that leave us?
It leaves us in reality. If these ideas are not popular, you as a candidate cannot run on them and expect to win. Joe won due to understanding he needed to remain moderate to appeal to the masses. Best case would be for him to pass progressive legislation by presenting it as not
People are coming out with all these demands for Joe who A. Didnt vote and B. Don’t understand politics. Progressive ideas aren’t popular among Americans, you either have to trick them or remain neutral to remain in office.
