To anyone feeling not great rn--that is ok. The period that follows extensive, intense stress is rarely "I feel amazing now!" It's your mind and body saying "we're safe-ish? great i'm literally going to collapse now." It's called the let-down effect.
If you spent 3 days holding a 100lb bomb that will go off if you set it down, you're not automatically fine when someone finally disarms it. That relief doesn't mean your muscles aren't damaged or your brain isn't exhausted. Bodies and minds need time to recover from stress.
So if you're feeling weird becuz you're relieved but not feeling elated or even measurably better, or if next week you feel like you were hit by a truck, know that it's a normal response.

Listen to your body. Nourish yourself. Take your meds. Rest and recover.
