We’ve got a fascism problem in this country and Trump didn’t create it. He commandeered and focused an existing strain.

The truth is that the Republican Party has cultivated a paranoid, white supremacist base for decades, creating a fascist movement that was always prepared for a figure unafraid of pushing the right buttons to activate them and thrum them to a frenzy.

Once we’re passed Trump’s coup attempt, we have to focus on the elements that got us to this point, destroy the infrastructure and propaganda that animates this fascist movement, and prevent somebody more disciplined that Trump from picking up the pieces and running with them.
