An attendee asked: how do you make time for your own writing when you run a project. To the great answers I just wanted to add: Turn off your phone! Set aside dedicated writing time, close Whatsapp on your laptop, close your email. And let ppl know you're doing that

When you run creative projects they can become everything you do, so marking out clear time is essential—and making all your colleagues aware of that allows them to adjust their expectations of your availability and be cognisant of their workloads too!

I'm so lucky to work on @extrateethmag with @discodanskin & @DesignsEsther, who are as compassionate and generous as they are talented. We do not want to run a project that is unduly stressful; we want each other to have a good work-life balance. So we create that.

Creative energy is often difficult to maintain while handling organisation, admin, budgeting, communication etc so don't allow your own writing to get lost amidst all of that. I like to write in the mornings so I try not to turn on my phone til noon. It works!
