Smilee, Atlas& #39;s french counterpart is battle weary after suffering numerous defeats & with nearly 300 games to his name, has seen the light and found that playing Asia& #39;s finest ever export as LB is the answer to his worries. Atlas is in good form, his trusted Hassenhutel calm.
Smilee respects that Atlas as a superior player, or maybe he just enjoys the possession stat, none the less, it is a rare treat for his team to cross the half way line for the entire first half, the pitch very heavy with mud.
Half time is upon us, its not looking good with the outside interference of Lag, and Smilee happy to keep the ball. Atlas decides to go full red, man mark his entire back 4, and activate the gengen press at half time. "Never back down" roars Hassenhutel.
The second half continues to be a test of patience as Smilee proceeds to continue on his quest to force submission via sheer successful pass assist 3 football in his own half. He senses the Atlas is over committing, pressing with aggression & growing tired. Cunning like a snake.
Low & behold Smilee sees this opportunity and acts swiftly, finally crossing the half way line and with his first meaningful attack just before the hour mark has his reward. The Atlas is stunned, panicked and a sense of gloom hangs over the team. How can we turn this around?
70 minutes pass by, they feel like hours for the Atlas team. Assistant coach Bindewald takes the reigns, after Hassenhutel retreats to the stands. Outraged by what he has seen. The ref showing no sympathy, the defeat appears inevitable. The fans almost silenced by the occasion.
Time is almost up, 86 minutes on the clock, the connection heavy, the rare occasion Atlas has possession it is surrendered is swift fashion, Until Kareem had a dream.. a miss placed pass from VVD, the quick thinking of Dutch Frank, and Big Sausage. BOOM! THE CROWD GOES WILD!
A draw has been secured surely, the fans cant believe it, Bindewald clutching his fist on the halfway line. The Atlas have been to hell & back to avoid defeat! The first shot in 90 minutes being vital... But wait.. surely not.. the crowd rise to their feet! "ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK"
SIMPLY STUNNING! Big Sausage has forced a turn around deep into injury time, Atlas has won it. The ground shaking so much so that Smilee has issued his team all leave the pitch immediately refusing to see the final whistle. Rage pumping through his veins, the master plan in ruins
Atlas claims 3 ranked points for his troubles knowing deep down that could easily have been minus 12 points. A real test of sanity and gamesmanship for all involved. He decided it was best to not take take to the virtual pitch again for the foreseeable future.
