The #1 criticism i get all the time is that i should “finish” my animations.
But its already is finished, i just didn’t do cleanup or coloring. I’m done with it. It has served its purpose
No one ever appreciates the roughs of an animation and are conditioned to think that if it’s rough then it’s a draft for something to be completed and erased later. But thats the part if animation i like seeing the most because you are reminded a human made it
We rarely think to ourselves when watching an animated movie “someone drew all this” because all the lines are perfectly drawn and colors are flat. But when we see the sketch lines of a stroke, we are reminded. And thats okay
Animation roughs almost always look better than the final cleanup. Its so much more satisfying to look at the rushed strokes than perfect lineart for me
Also the entire point of making an animation is to practice ANIMATION which is movement, NOT the art part. Because animation is movement, not aesthetics
