My first apartment was a quick bus ride from chinatown, and I spent months going there to a kung fu studio, and a crumbling theater that played hong kong movies, samurai flicks, and old kaiju movies.
My apartment was $325 a month, and in a not-too-shady part of town.

I worked for a 24-hour Video Store chain, in multiple locations around town, and was allowed 2 movies a day from whichever location I went to. Job perks, and I watched hundreds of movies for free.
Life was good.
From 1999 to 2001, I saw 3 movies a day, at least.
