the story behind this one is amazing. Woman and her husband raise a chimp since very shortly after birth. they treat it more like a kid, take it in town, to the store, over to friends.
the husband eventually passed away so it was just a woman and her chimp. One day while on medication for lyme disease the woman also gave the chimp some xanax laced tea. this has the exact opposite effect in chimps.
So the womans friend had come to visit and brought a tickle me elmo doll. that was the chimps favorite toy. paranoid, enraged, and hallucinating from the xanax the chimp tore into the womans friend.
As her friend was being attacked by the chimp the woman ran and grabbed a kitchen knife and tried stabbing the chimp to get it off her friend. this just made the chimp angrier so she ran in and made the call in the video.
When police arrived the chimp tried going after them but they shot the chimp "numerous times". the chimp was later found dead by its cage. So they noticed the womans friend was still alive.
Paramedics noted she lost her hands, nose, eyes, lips, and mid-face bone structure, and received significant brain tissue injuries. Surgeries included reattaching her jaw and later an experimental face transplant. She was left blind for the rest of her life from the attack.
Travis the chimp was an animal actor who had appeared in commercials for pepsi and old navy. He had also appeared on the man show.
the victim before and after face transplant.
