using they/them pronouns when talking to a new person avoids the action of misgendering them. until further notice, you should not be using other pronouns. that way you don& #39;t misgender them/don& #39;t get cancelled FOR misgendering them.
using they/them pronouns when referring to a person sometimes isn& #39;t always used gender wise. it is a plural way of saying "that person." so in the way some people use it, it& #39;s not always about gender, it& #39;s just referring to someone.

when talking with someone you don& #39;t know, especially on toxic app such as twitter, and ESPECIALLY especially if you are on stan twitter, you should always go with they/them unless told otherwise.
