I want to know who at Four Seasons Total Landscaping answered the phone and booked the conference.
This means that a deposit was likely sent as well. I've planned legal conferences for work, you usually have to pay to have a conference at a venue.
And they coordinated with this person and sent them an approximate guest count, asked for a map of the space, and just planned this whole event without verifying the location.
You don't just show up and have a conference somewhere. It takes more than a few moving parts for this to happen. And knowing what it takes to put these things together makes it THAT much funnier.
The Trump posters behind them had to be ordered so that they could be read on camera. That means someone at Four Seasons Landscaping sent over specs of the "collateral display wall" and just failed to mention it was a garage. And nobody on the Trump team asked for a picture.
Someone on the Trump team asked Four Seasons Landscaping what audio tech they had available for major conferences, and the person answered, "None" and nobody thought that response was odd for a luxury hotel venue. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Every single person in the photo was sent an invitation and not one of them looked up the address in advance and was like, "Is this correct??"
That means the someone at Four Seasons Landscaping asked them for money to secure the date and none of the team's accountants looked up the business name or address before issuing the check.
Orrrrrr they didn't ask for any deposit at all and nobody on the events team was like, "Huh, that's odd. Maybe I should follow up to make sure they didn't book someone else for the date/time we want."
Like.... they asked about where the press is allowed to go and if they needed badges and someone answered like, "They can just stay in the parking lot" and that was that. Nobody thought that was strange.
More than a few emails and phone calls were exchanged to coordinate this. And I mean, I'm sure Four Seasons Landscaping has great customer service, but how did the events team not realize they weren't speaking with a professional events coordinator??
Trump Events Team: What are the catering options? What are the drink options?
Four Seasons Landscaping: There is no catering.
TET: Oh OK, that's totally normal for a hotel.
Trump Events Team: Is one of the ballrooms available for a press conference? We're anticipating approximately 50 people, including media.
Four Seasons Landscaping: WUT
Trump Events Team: Is there private parking for events and what is the rate? Some of the attendees are high profile, so we'd prefer a discrete entrance.
FS Landscaping: You can park wherever.
TET: K.
Trump Events Team: Can we send our media and collateral in advance for setup? Who is the on-site coordinator? This is a very important press conference for the President of the United States of America.
Four Seasons Landscaping: You'll have to set up everything yourself.
Trump Events Team: Are there any rooms available?
Four Seasons Landscaping: We are leasing.
Trump Events Team: .... is there like... a contract? To confirm we have the space?
Four Seasons Landscaping: Nobody will be there, it's fine.
TET: Wow this is totally normal for a renowned luxury hotel.
Trump Events Team: Is there a lounge area near the space where guests can mingle before and after?
Four Seasons Landscaping: There's an entertainment space for adults right across.
TET: Great! Is there catering?
FSL: No.
