I found out this weekend that my son, age 7, is being bullied at school for his skin colour. That's sad. He's very sociable and loves everyone, but he's sensitive and not good at dealing with this kind of thing 1/
He's mixed race. We live in a very mixed part of London. His school is a good mix of white, African, West Indian, Vietnamese, plus a few mixed, Indian, Arab, Somali and other kids 2/
The bullying is coming from older black kids. That isn't a surprise. I also went to a very mixed school, and most of the racism emanated from the black kids back then 3/
Being white was actual OK. It was the mixed, African and Indian kids that got it worst. The kids that were the wrong kind of black. Problem is that black kids learn about being victims of racism. Nobody tells them they shouldn't be racist themselves 4/
But it's 10x worse now, because we have an official ideology (call it CRT or BLM) that says black people can't be racist. My son is officially NOT the victim of racism 5/
I've warned my wife for some years about this. As a black person, she isn't very aware of this issue, never having been at the receiving end 6/
The key thing is that bullying happens all the time in schools, and all kids have to learn to deal with it. Making racism a special case is a stupid idea. There's no difference between being bullied over colour, height or a stammer 7/
By fetishising race as special, the authorities have made it worse. This is why I hate wokeism /end
