Idk who needs to hear this but AOC didn’t start this, and it’s not the job of progressive women just to take what cable news says about them without response.

Just because you disagree with her politics doesn’t mean she’s wrong. She’s pointing out a weakness we need to fix.
We need to stop thinking all criticisms are attacks, but we also need to stop with this bad-faith bullshit on both sides.

AOC is not free from criticism, but she’s not wrong when she talks about how the center blames every ill on the left instead of owning and fixing flaws.
The progressives turned out this year. They donated, volunteered, organized, and voted with and for Democrats. Progressives ran and won as Democrats. It’s really easy to dump on them because they don’t hold the power in the Party, but it’s a really, really bad look.
I’m not saying progressives or the left are perfect because history would prove me wrong, but Christ this Party has no future without a progressive wing. We’re part of the base.

And if you keep throwing progressives under the bus, low turnout becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
One of the quickest ways to lose the Georgia Senate elections is to stick with this strategy of pandering to Republicans in the name of unity at the expense of progressives who are loyal but critical of the center.

It’s not progressives splitting tickets.
I don’t want to be the guy harping on the point, but we have a major fight for the Senate over the next two months. We literally can’t afford this. We can’t have Claire McCaskill going on MSNBC and railing progressives. We can’t call progressives “latte liberals.”
Progressives worked hard this cycle. Critical of the candidates and strategies doesn’t make us enemies. We don’t want to be enemies. But every time someone like McCaskill or Axelrod goes on TV and mocks the left wing of the Party, you make millions feel unwelcome in the tent.
And when you’re doing that while pandering to Republicans and begging for unity and forgiveness despite heinous crimes against Americans and humanity, it makes many of us feel like we’re not a part of the Party at all.
The youth vote is predominantly progressive for Democrats. They’re turning out. Don’t lose the next generation because you can’t handle criticism.

Listen to AOC. No one is saying make her President tomorrow. But she deserves a say, just as much as Abigail Spanberger.
And for the love of god quit acting like sitting Congresswomen need to sit and be quiet. Her district overwhelmingly supports her. She has a mandate to speak for her district. If they want to be represented by a progressive and progressive ideas, she needs to be loud for that.
Like I said. There’s BS on both sides here, but the center needs the left and the left needs the center. Infighting only increases the likelihood that we lose.

But the centrists need to examine their messaging and strategies because they’re the ones losing right now, except Joe.
That’s not saying that centrists don’t have a place or a message, it’s saying that the left needs them at their fighting weight and they’re not right now, and that hurts all of us. Blaming progressives for that fact makes it worse.

Stop doing that. We’re your allies.
