ok story time. as a straight person, i didn't know what polari was until louis made that post on IG and i saw everyone talking about its significance. i read up on it and understood that it was an important part of queer history. i asked 2 of my het friends if they knew what it
meant or if i was just dumb. but they didn't know. the point is, if louis was straight he wouldn't make a post like on IG. he wouldn't put that caption which is a polari slang (i won't say it bc i'm not sure if as a het it's okay for me to say it). louis has no
reason to buy a polari t-shirt and post that if he didn't know its significance and what it means. it's called queer coding. for example, what business would i have, as a het, to post about polari and buy a t-shirt of polari? it's not my business and i have no reason to do it
so before you go invalidating queer history and saying louis wasn't queer coding, think about what we're saying. he wouldn't do that unless he knew what it means and how important it is. don't call it a conspiracy theory when it was used widely years ago.
i hope i worded all this correctly, please let me know if anything i said was wrong? hope this all made sense🧍🏾‍♀️
i saw a lot of people today invalidating queer history by saying polari doesn't mean anything and when we asked them to educate themselves, they refused to and it pissed me off bc at least understand what points we're making before you attack us😭
and i hope i'm not speaking over anyone by making this thread? please correct me if i'm wrong
