Thurgood Marshall was the reason I was inspired to go to Howard University. Every time I visit DC I visit his grave to thank him. He was the first Black Supreme Court Justice for the United States. Who also was the main lawyer for Brown vs. the Board of Education
And of course who gave the first person of color in the United States history to legally be able to go to school with white folks the Medal of Freedom in 2011? The first Black President of the United States.
Now today officially I’m proud again where another Howard University alumni, Kamala Harris has become the first Black Vice President of the United States. I mentioned a lot of firsts in this thread. History matters because those who do, pay their respects to those who deserve it.
