Unpacking some thoughts on religion here.

Seeing the direction that some relatives have gone in regards to religion (far right evangelical) has made me think a lot. I've been looking at Christianity differently way for a while, but seeing this has made me feel more urgency. 1/?
This thread is going to be long- fair warning. I made a post on insta&mentioned that I had been trying to think outside of toxic evangelical frameworks & I wanted to put caveats, to say that my exp hasnt been that bad. That's true by many metrics. but "not that bad" isnt great 2/
I wasn't in the worst of circumstances& had multiple opinions on religion reflected in some people in my family. But the attitudes within conservative evangelism and the culture around it still impacted my self-worth and mental health negatively (especially as a queer person) 3/
