The most centrist possible candidate was the only guy who could beat Trump; meanwhile, progressives get beat as Dems fail to exploit Biden& #39;s coattails; millions of people engaged in anti-Trump, pro-GOP ticket splitting.

And this is the conclusion AOC draws.

Let& #39;s leave aside the fact that Joe Biden, not AOC, is now the head of the Democratic Party. It tells you something that she couldn& #39;t even wait for the election to be called, much less for Biden to be sworn in, before opening fire on other Democrats. That& #39;s politically stupid. /2
But you can see why Spanberger and Lamb - who did not win a seat in a tiny-turnout primary in a totally safe D district - would be pissed. AOC is signaling that if there have to be Dem losses, so be it. Because one of them will not have to be her. /3
Normally, this is the kind of Dem-on-Dem violence I would ignore, but we just had a near-death experience as a democracy, and the Dems need to become the governing majority for a while. Won& #39;t happen this way. They won& #39;t get past 2022 with this kind of inanity, much less & #39;24. /4
I say this as someone who wants Dems to pad their lead: The losses in 2020 were - as Spanberger and others are warning you - because of dopey slogans like Defund The Police and court-packing. Biden, wisely, avoided them because Biden is not a leftist. So be like Joe. /5
Otherwise, you will have Mitch as MajLdr forever, and a few years from now you& #39;ll be trying to replace Breyer, facing a huge Haley or Cotton lead, and you won& #39;t know why. We& #39;ve all been given a reprieve, Dems, so maybe let& #39;s not spend a lot of time on AOC screwing that up. /6x
