It's really important to understand this.

This is not about Us vs Them.

This is about us vs people who want to see us literally dead.

If we did reach out to shake their hands, they'd be met with disgust.

When people say the only answer to division is love, it confuses me.

We said let's give everyone health care and a living wage.

They said let's strip everyone who doesn't look like us of their civil rights and crush them under our boots.

We're literally loathed for our love.

How do you end division with people who see your humanity and hate you for it?

Why are those of us that are capable of love the ones supposed to do the work?

Every inch we give helps get them closer to their end goal. Every concession helps them achieve the America they dream about.

That's one in which we've all "gone back" to wherever we came from or died at the ends of their gun barrels.

Why would I ever give an inch towards that?
