we have started up the woodstove and only have about a week's worth of wood and folks i need to ask for your help

i know where we can get free seasoned wood, but we need a chainsaw cos our yard-work, branch-trimmer electric one is not up to the job in any way whatsoever.

what we need is a 18-20" gas unit (battery would be great but $$$$) so we're looking at $500 with taxes

"just use electric heat" this house has no electric heat.

"just get us to help you buy firewood" ok but a chainsaw means i never need to ask for firewood money ever again.

"just use the chainsaw you have" ok i am going to need help buying several miles of waterproof extension cords then cos the firewood is artisanal, lake-cured logs and it's technically stealing but not from anyone.

"salvage" is the term, i believe.
