while I've since divorced myself from religion, I've not forgotten how to forgive; so long as there is acknowledgement, remorse, and penance

I willingly, often happily, participated in hateful behavior for a long time

thankfully I have been nudged, encouraged and even smacked into learning the realities of our human and political histories and my own contribution to regression

thankfully people who I have harmed directly or indirectly, have opened their arms to me, welcomed me into their spaces, and allowed me to learn about them and with them

sometimes it feels like some people are incorrigible, and maybe they are

but I hope everyone can learn

I will try to stay as positive as I can as often as I can, but I will continue to call out and criticize injustices where I see them, and I will not be giving out free passes to anyone
