It& #39;s not my normal practice to share private messages.

However, when a representative of the Church is being spiritually abusive, the faithful have a right to know.

@FatherArisman sent me a message today accusing me of voting with evil intentions. ...
... This priest and I have never communicated before. He& #39;s not my confessor; he doesn& #39;t know my heart.

I responded, as you can see, citing this thread: https://twitter.com/DawnofMercy/status/1322693356552626177.">https://twitter.com/DawnofMer... My hope was to take his unprovoked condemnation as an opportunity for private dialogue. ...
He responded, "Torture and deportation or capital punishment aren& #39;t intrinsic evils."

But this is wrong. Vatican II and JP2 say torture & deportation are intrinsic evils. The death penalty isn& #39;t, but I didn& #39;t say it was; I said it was an "inadmissible evil," which it is. ...
... I was going to continue the dialogue by sending @FatherArisman John Paul II& #39;s Veritatis splendor no. 80, which cites the Council& #39;s teaching that includes torture and deportation among intrinsic evils. But he blocked me. So I& #39;m posting it here where he can see it. ...
... I& #39;ll write a complaint to @FatherArisman& #39;s bishop, @BishopPaprocki, about his abusive use of social media. But I& #39;m complaining publicly too because, as a Catholic laywoman, I want to say that this madness of Catholics judging others& #39; intentions for voting has to stop. ...
... It bears repeating: What I experienced from @FatherArisman is _spiritual_abuse_.

He condemned me in the harshest terms for what he wrongly assumed were my motivations, even though I& #39;ve expressly and publicly denied having such motivations. ...
... When I responded politely by citing Church teaching, he responded by _denying_ the Church taught such things.

And then he denied me the opportunity to correct him further in a private matter, by blocking me from his locked account! ...
... If this is how @FatherArisman acts in the pulpit and in the confessional--if he assumes anyone who didn& #39;t vote as he did must have had evil intentions--then I fear for his parishioners.

Yes, @FatherArisman, God help me. God help the Church in America heal from this madness.
