.) I don’t support President Trump nor did I vote for him, but the past two days my heart has been heartbroken for him and I’ve been driven to pray for him. For his life to be redeeemed by Jesus alone. He needs Jesus.
.) President Trump was also a product of being raised as a child from a father who really didn’t lead or love him well. Fred Trump was a fiercely ambitious man who worked seven days a week and devoted few waking hours to his role as a parent.
.) Fred pushed Trump to be a "killer" and a "king" and bend the rules to win. President Trump is a many who has been raised to have a distorted worldview. Trump’s father was also verbally abusive. He always felt he needed to win in order to earn the approval of his father.
.) Because Trump has been raised to have a terrible worldview, he has one rule: Life is mainly combat; the law of the jungle rules; pretty much all that matters is winning or losing and rules are made to be broken. This is the Trump we have gotten to know over four years.
.) As someone who has never met my biological father, I can see that President Trump is a man who is deeply insecure, hurting inside, and just doesn’t know how or when to let that pain go from how he was raised. So he puts on a “perfect mask” to hide his hurts and wounds.
.) Regardless if you votes for Trump or not, one thing is certain: As Christians we should pray for him. Pray that Jesus, by the Holy Spirit, will radically compel him to repent and put his faith in Jesus. And start to heal those wounds through counseling he has from a child.
