Appealing to *white* moderates is a game of diminishing returns (i.e., we have all the ones that are obtainable; move on) but serious question: how do we deal with the "voters of color fleeing from communist regimes are understandably skittish around the socialist label" problem?
I don't know that you'd call that demographic "moderate" or not, but there definitely seems to be some tension there with the competing theory that we just need to lean left-er in order to get even BIGGER turnouts (than this already historically huge turnout we just had).
Like, at least on an individual level I've been cheerfully calling myself a 'socialist' for a while now and I'm wondering if maybe that's not helping the movement if voters find that label associated with trauma or harm.
and that's without getting into, like, the issues with "Bernie praised Castro" and similar issues of American Democrats praising people who have harmed our marginalized voters in the past. We should probably, like, stop doing that?
This seems like something we need a strategy for. We really need to flip Florida blue, I feel.
