I think there are some odd discrepancies between viewers and players in the rhythm game community so I will try my best to explain how rhythm game difficulty should be perceived even to a casual viewer and to not stress out the player
Firstly I know its really cool to see "wow so many note" but NPS(notes per second)=/=difficulty. There are many charts where you can jackhammer(press multiple notes at the same time) 3 times a second but they're never as complex as lets say charts with odd patterns
For instance this is a hard chart. You can see the note timing alters and there are flick notes in there to keep the player in check.(Fujin Rumble- Groove Coaster). The difficulty does not come from high NPS rather than the fact you have to time correctly and do other actions
This is my favorite example of "false difficulty"- Fool Moon Night by the AMAZING jhlee0133. You can see "whoa many note brrr" but its just jackhammering on the notes in quick succession which, while entertaining to the average viewer, is not actually that difficult to the player
The other thing that is a fucking PLAGUE between a steamer and the viewer in the rhythm game community are charts. We all know freedom dive and grievous lady but please, do not spam the chat asking the steamer to play these popular songs to prove their worth.
Every player takes their challenges and progression differently and sure, while we all know and love Conflict, it is definitely something you shouldn't impose on a player, especially if they're relatively new.
I can also FC Grievous Lady but I'm never playing it while streaming simply because I don't want to. Considering this song is hard as BALLS and has little room for error, the insane amount of pressure from viewers can make it go to shit and then you're instantly a bad player
Every game has their own set of difficulty too and there are difficulties the common viewer can never see. Criss cross in DDR, the slide note fuckery in Cytus and so many more. Many notes is not difficulty, its the chart pace, patterns and the intricacies of the game itself
So if you're a viewer, please don't harass the steamer. I've watched many rhythm game streams lately(djmax) where people are simply rude to the player because "oh you cant perfect play "We Are All Gonna Die" on 8B". Let the players play the songs they want and do their thing.
Thats all I wanted to say now go support your fav rhythm game streamer and tell them they're doing a great job.
