Sometimes images are vapid sentiment aimed for clicks. This is not one of them. We have our first woman vice-president (elect) and it matters. Just acknowledge that it matters. In a positive way. Be mean and bitter tomorrow. But just right now, let our history overwhelm you.

When I think of VP-elect Harris, I think of my mom’s mom, who raised three daughters by herself. My mom who went to nursing school when she was 50 years old. My Aunt Carol who has spent 40 years bringing life to her community. My wife who has spent 25 years bringing life to me.

I think of the weary grandmothers I meet at work who are literally everything to so many. With no help. None. I think of my neighbors in every place of work, day in & day out. When I think of Kamala Harris, I think of them all. Cuz they grind it out day after day. This matters
