I joined an enamel pin buy/sell/trade group on FB. A dude was selling like 50 pigeon pins and I thought this one with a flower in its mouth was cute so I asked for the price

Each of these pins is $400

He told me “1200” for the group and I was like, surely for used pins that means $12

Then I went down this crazy funky rabbit hole

Apparently there’s a semi-popular funk band called Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and a major part of their fan base is making/collecting pigeon pins

He was like “ah yes the OG Pleasure Pigeon, one of the rarest” and I was like... I just want a pigeon with a flower in its mouth holy shit

Anyway, PPPP is actually some pretty smooth funk, so at least I have a new band to listen to even if I will never have that pin
