Mask off for a bit:

I& #39;m profoundly happy and relieved that we have elected a good man to be president. I& #39;m certain to disagree with Biden over the next 4-8 years, but I& #39;ll never doubt his intentions.
Additionally, while I& #39;m pretty damn far from Kamala on policy, I& #39;m pleased that our country has taken the step of having a woman of color as V.P. This doesn& #39;t fix everything by a long shot but it& #39;s another important step in our national healing from centuries of oppression.
I& #39;m more hopeful than I have been in a long time for this country. Rejecting trump after four years was important, but is also insufficient. There is still much healing needed.
70 million people voted for a vain, bigoted, hateful, ignorant man for president and that& #39;s not going away just because he lost.
Our country needs to address this, and we need to do it in a way that addresses real concerns without giving an inch to bigotry and hatred. It& #39;s going to be a tough needle to thread, but I& #39;m optimistic.
So let& #39;s celebrate the victory, it was hard fought and the stakes were incredibly high. But remember that there& #39;s still much work to be done.
