On a policy basis, the Trump Administration has been one of the most consequential in my lifetime.
If he could have just acted the way Americans expect the president to act, especially during covid, he could have been reelected easily.

Alas, he was not capable of that.
I suspect every president has had a moment when they realize they occupy the same seat once held by Washington and Lincoln, and they feel humbled.

Except Trump. That's why he lost.
"Trumpism" if defined as skepticism about corporate America, suspicion about the benefits of free trade, opposition to international adventurism, and unabashed patriotism, is not going away.
Trump even with all his Trumpiness still managed to get 48-49% of the vote in MI and WI and PA amidst record-setting turnout. Combined that with the gains among African Americans and Latinos, and the path for the GOP is an unabashed "Americanism" that emphasizes national strength
My replies are full of "but the racism." Alas, matters are more complicated than they seem. https://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/statesub.php?year=2020&fips=48505&f=1&off=0&elect=0
