Ok, so I watched episode 1 of V8 and I thought it was a pretty decent first episode. It did a lot of things right such as set the tone, set up the overall plot & put/start to put its pieces in place. So to that, good job.

I also like the little details in this episode like Mercury & Emerald FINALLY getting new clothes, the Happy Huntresses actually doing something & being useful, some actual conflict between the party and the villains once again have this air of threatening to them once again.

However, there are some issues I have with this episode. I don't like the little explanation of how the party just found Oscar so easily or how Tyrian got onto the whale. Then there's the issue of the story having Yang call out Ruby for>

her terrible leadership, but have NO ONE call out Yang & Blake for going behind their backs and filling Robyn in? Not mention, why does Ren care so much about Mantle & Nora's focusing on the bigger picture...when they were the exact opposite last volume? Consistency guys!

And speaking of consistency, why was Neo so shocked to see Cinder pull her crap and regard her as a mere "asset"? Did she forget she's already worked with Cinder back in Vale and knows how she operates or did she also suddenly build up trust in the evil maiden? It's baffling.

And then there's the complete 180 of James' character, where he's apparently just straight up killing everyone & anyone who opposes him like the past volume didn't show his humanity still well intact, & he gets a robot arm despite Winter showing he could've gotten combat cast?
