I pretty much never post about politics. But I can't help myself today. Four years ago, I woke my ten year old daughter the morning after the election and told her they Trump had won. She sobbed. 1/n
She was ten, she had almost no understanding of politics, but she had seen his behavior before the election. She had seen the names he called women. She had seen him make fun of a disabled man. 2/n
She was only ten and she could clearly see that he was not a good man. For four years, I've thought about this and have worried about all of the children who had this same feeling that day. 3/n
So, today, when we saw that his Presidency was coming to and end, I was so happy to see her face (now 14) and to see some of her faith in America restored. This is a good day for her. It's a good day for all of us. 4/4
Oh yeah, and in 2024, she'll be a voter. Over the next four years, she'll be watching!
