THREAD ON POST ELECTION SAFETY — BOTH PHYSICAL AND MENTAL
i would like to preface this thread by stating that it is aimed towards poc / lgbtq / muslims / jews, but those who aren’t trump supporters should take precautions as well
PHYSICAL HEALTH:
obviously, since biden won the election, trump supporters will definitely act up . consider the following: are you stocked up ? do you and your family/friends have safety plans ? do any of you absolutely HAVE to go out in the next couple of weeks ? +
+ try to avoid going outside for the next couple of weeks, as it will be extremely unsafe . only go out if you need to restock on supplies . +
+ pack a bag of essentials in case you do need to go, including your id and important documents, any medications you may need, some clothes, toiletries, snacks, cash, cards, your phone and laptop and their chargers, and some form of personal protection, just in case . +
+ if you or someone you know is an undocumented immigrant, look into the nearest sanctuary city +

MENTAL HEALTH:
i would just like to preface this by stating that my DMs are always open to anyone who may be experiencing post-election anxiety, whether we are mutuals or not . +
+ obviously, most (if not all) of us had to deal with election anxiety, and now we have to deal with post-election anxiety . first of all, take a deep breath . biden won the election . let the election anxiety dissipate . +

- breathing exercises
- drink water
- speak to friends and family
- limit time on social media if it overwhelms you
- do any (HEALTHY) coping mechanisms you may have
