Amongst the celebration and the hopes of a better tomorrow, we can’t forget that 70 million people voted to re-elect a President who showed himself at every turn to be a cruel, selfish, divisive liar. A man with scant regard for his office, his people, and his responsibilities.
That cannot be ignored, nor simply answered with the belief that it’s simply Republican voters voting Republican. Something in Trump
resonated with a lot of people. That’s a deeply unsettling reality that has to be addressed if the damage and hurt of these years is to be healed.
If lessons aren’t learnt over how so many of the abhorrent elements of his reign became normalised, they will fester, grow stronger and re-emerge somewhere down the line in an even worse form.

Time to heal, yes. But above all a time to listen, learn, evolve and grow.
