After five days spent chasing down every even semi-plausible theory that was given to me by anyone, I view it to be almost certain at this point that what happened on Tuesday (and in the weeks preceding) is that Joe Biden secured enough legal votes to win the Electoral College 1/
I think it's important, for the health of the country and the integrity of the election process, that any credible accusation pertaining to the integrity of the voting process should be pursued to the fullest practical extent. 2/
To the extent that the Trump campaign has concerns about the votes in any particular location, they should be given full access to physically inspect ballots and verify tabulations and the legality of every ballot cast. 3/
Counties that used the software that had the glitch in two different locations would do well to double-check their results to ensure that the two instances of error we have seen so far were the result of an isolated glitch and not a systemic problem. 4/
Further, the Trump campaign should be given a reasonable opportunity to come forth with evidence (rather than conclusory statements) that would show that anything illegal or improper has occurred that would have had a reasonable chance of changing the outcome of the election. 5/
Right now, Trump looks likely to lose at least four separate states that he needs by tens of thousands of votes. I find that the possibility that a few hundred votes might have been fraudulently added here or there is plausible. Tens of thousands, in four different states? 6/
I'm not going to say it's impossible, but it certainly isn't anything anyone should believe in the absence of good evidence. And we have absolutely none at this point. We don't even have allegations, outside the one allegation in Nevada that concerns less than 4,000 votes 7/
The counting process in Philadelphia has been literally live streamed every second since it started. Over 100 Trump campaign observers were continually present in Wayne County when those votes were tabulated. The chances anything large enough to matter will turn up are small 8/
However, I have no problem with people demanding a full and fair accounting of the results and hope that everyone participates in making sure as much due diligence is done to convince any reasonable person that the result is above board. No one should. 9/
But if you're already convinced the election was stolen, you might want to consider that you have allowed yourself to reach a conclusion before considering the evidence, rather than the other way around (which is generally considered to be the proper way to do things). 10/
