Don’t get too comfortable. Nothing stops Trump from running again in 2024. He’s 4 years younger than Biden. We’ve seen that he still has massive support and that this election was close. If the Biden presidency fails, Trump may be back with a vengeance.

No matter what happens, the Republicans are going to have a horrifying nominee. Could be Cotton or Crenshaw, one of the competent fascists. Since Biden will be a terrible president we immediately need to start thinking about how we’re going to stop whatever ghoul pops up next.

Personally I do not treat these people as vanquished while they still walk the earth. NYT ran a headline around 1924 that said something like “Hitler virtually eliminated.” So much for that. Watch out for nasty surprises from insane aggrieved murderers.

Trump has every reason to come back if his health holds. He knows that he would have won if not for Covid. Biden probably can’t run again. Trump will want revenge against everyone who is laughing at him. He’d have a shot, as we’ve seen, and it’d be his chance for payback.

I’m just saying don’t be surprised if his way of dealing with his loss is that his concession speech also announces his 2024 candidacy

Then he will spend the next four years acting like the “president in exile” waiting for his triumphant return to the office that was “stolen” from him
