An in-depth review thread of Seo Dalmi and Won (Seo) Injae’s: their relationship/bond as sisters, the unfortunate split, the scars and burdens they carry, and their somewhat tragic similarities. So that perhaps we can all have a better view of both sides of the coin.

1. The turning point:
Dalmi and Injae followed their Dad to prevent their family from splitting up, but they ended up seeing their Dad getting abused instead. They went home, and their parents decided to get divorced anyway. They carry the same/similar scars.

2. The choice:
We don’t know which sister chose which parent first. But regardless, this was not easy for either of them. They made a difficult decision as a child and it’s important to remember money was not a deciding factor for either of them.

3. The choice (2):
Dad quit his job, Mom was likely jobless. How could we call one selfish when there was no clear advantage on either end? Ultimately, both struggled in their own paths (Dalmi’s lack of money and parent, Injae’s loss of sense of belonging and affection).

4. The child's trust:
They both trusted their respective chosen parents. Dalmi trusted her Dad, and Injae trusted Mum. At the end, both failed the girls. Dad couldn't protect Dalmi (literally), and Mom couldn't protect Injae from the loneliness inflicted on her.

5. The sisters’ desperation to keep the family intact:
Injae heard the seriousness in her mother’s tone and tried to stop her Dad from resigning. Dalmi too asked Grandma for help to change Dad's mind. And eventually, they joined hands and tried to persuade Mom instead.

6. Scars & Self:
Despite different upbringing in the second half of their life, the scars they carried shaped them both to be a better person. They know the hardship their father and their family went through. And they would not want to inflict the same pain on others.

7. Scars & Self (2):
They grew to be very hardworking while staying respectful to their colleagues. Sometimes, to a fault. As we see both Dalmi & Injae were actually somewhat easy to take advantage of. But essentially, as they learn - these are qualities of a good leader

8. Seo sisters, natural leaders!:
They communicate well, they carry themselves with pride and confidence, but are fully capable of admitting their shortcomings. I love how they both similarly carried their teams during the hackathon.

9. Injae’s protectiveness of Dalmi:
Injae is clearly protective of Dalmi. She noticed the holes her sister’s socks (which might hurt her). She closed her sister’s mouth (to prevent a bigger issue) and gently held her sister at that distressing moment as a form of comfort

10. Injae’s protectiveness of Dalmi (2):
Over time, and after everything – this protectiveness turned subtle. Like Injae said she had no rights to get angry with her stepdad, she probably felt she lost the rights to protect Dalmi. But deep down, it is there.

11. Dalmi’s admiration of Injae:
I’m not sure if admiration is the right word, but Dalmi followed what Injae liked doing and wanted what she had. I hard-relate to this as the younger sibling. Ironically, even after 15 years, Dalmi still sees her that way.

12. Dalmi’s admiration of Injae (2):
Despite being a smart kid, Dalmi ditched her dreams and even dropped out of uni to not burden her grandmother. Likely, she also buried her dreams of opening a business. But upon seeing Injae back, her drive got fuelled again.
