you know i love that in 2gether it wasnt a sexuality crisis it was literally just tine fighting his own insecurities and sarawat liking him openly without thinking about what others thought
the way it wasnt focused on what society thinks about gay relationships it was just more of an internal story, tines inner thoughts and overthinking made him second guess everything and sarawats own awkwardness and thoughtfulness meant that he didn’t outwardly tell tine
and the supportive friendships? there was nothing relating to the shock of liking a boy, tine’s friends were shocked because it was a popular boy and man and boss just accepted sarawat’s crush and encouraged him
the fact that people like woody, actually liked 2gether and thought it was different from other bls says a lot! and idc if its not the best and most complex story but its a comfort show and people love it for a reason
and yeah it was like a typical romcom... that was the point. how many lgbtq romcoms are there with poc? not many i can think of so yes it is a common trope but not in terms of lgbtq media. not everything has to be dark/intense/traumatic to be realistic and good representation
