In tonight's edition of #Elections2020 Anxiety Baking, we're going to see how many batches of cookies it takes for Georgia to count its remaining mail-in ballots. Let's goooo!!!
First in the oven are the chocolate chip cookies, assumed to be the all-around favorite as far as cookie options go. Who wouldn't vote for one? https://mobile.twitter.com/GAFollowers/status/1324192106739544065
Batch one is done and Georgia hasn't completed it's count. On to the next...
Up next are the mandarin cookies, a recipe I made up by adding the zest of 4 mandarins to my go-to butter cookie recipe. It's a result of improvisation...with a distinct orange color.
Ok, Atlanta - batch two is almost out the oven. Are we gonna be firing up the stand mixer again? https://mobile.twitter.com/CNNValencia/status/1324220965769957376
C'mon Georgia. Let us sleep.
Can one of the states please, PLEASE announce their results already?
Can I stop baking now??!! https://mobile.twitter.com/NewsHour/status/1324442791368413194
I'm going to need to buy more flour. https://mobile.twitter.com/RalstonReports/status/1324446278827212801
No, I wasn't kidding. Who's up for a night of nail biting and yeast bread making? I...have enough cookies now.
As PA counts trickle in, pizza is coming out the oven.

That speech...I'm gonna need to make some brownies.
The past hour didn't bring clarity, but it least it delivered these results.
If Georgia or Pennsylvania gets called tonight, I'll share the brownie recipe. I've gone through more brownie experiments and failures than any other baked good in my repertoire, so it's close to my ❤️.
In other news, my household is like, "Why are you laughing instead of making cupcakes?".
Closing out this thread with a cream cheese and blueberry pancake sandwich for late lunch.
